Lieve and Peter Goossens honoured with the European Hospitality Foundation Award

Antwerp, Belgium, 19 October 2017 – The President of HOTREC and European Hospitality Foundation (EHF), Mrs. Susanne Kraus Winkler, and the Vice-President of EHF, Mr. Joan Gaspart, granted Lieve and Peter Goossens the EHF Award at the margins of HOTREC’s 75th General Assembly. The prize acknowledges Ms. and Mr. Goossens visionary contribution to the restaurant industry in Belgium.

"Ms. and Mr. Goossens are truly passionate about their work and contributed, in a remarkable manner, and for a significant number of years to the activities of the Belgian gastronomy and the hospitality sector”, added Mr. Joan Gaspart.

Peter Gossens is probably one of the most internationally well-known chefs in Belgium. He opened his own restaurant „Hof van Cleve" in 1992 with his wife and has since then been awarded with the highest recognitions in the world of gastronomy: three Michelin stars and 19.5 out of 20 in the Gault&Millau guide, just to name a few. The quality of the food is remarkable and the service led by Lieve is outstanding. For them, everything is about the best local products, from the design of the restaurant and its interior to his extraordinary and luxurious dishes. Their main objective, alongside with their team, is to see all the guests leaving the restaurant with a smile on their faces.

Mr. Goossens is the founder of Flanders Food Academy and the captain of Flanders Food Faculty – Visit Flanders, both enteties promote Flanders as a top culinary destination.

The European Hospitality Foundation award is delivered twice a year during the HOTREC General Assembly, which gathers 100 senior executives of the hospitality industry, representing 41 National Associations in 29 countries. The EHF award was designed by Miquel Planas, famous artist and chairman of the Sculpture Department of Fine Arts of the Fine Arts Faculty of Barcelona. The next EHF award ceremony will take place on 27 April 2018 in Austria.
