HOTREC Position Paper on the Digital Services Act
As the European Umbrella organization for hotels, restaurants, bars, and cafés in Europe, HOTREC warmly welcomes the European Commission’s aim to submit a proposal for a Digital Services Act package by the end of 2020. Please find below our position paper on the Digital Services Act, outlining our proposals and views on the EU digital and competition initiatives planned under this legislative package.

Industry survival depends on common testing protocol in Europe
NET welcomes the announcement of the Commission of a European testing protocol for travellers and a common approach to quarantines. If correctly implemented, it will restore travel confidence and allow the travel and tourism industry to lift off again.

HOTREC 81st General Assembly: electing the 2021-2022 leadership to face the many challenges ahead
15 October 2020 – on the occasion of its 81st General Assembly, HOTREC, the umbrella association of Hotels, Restaurants and Cafés in Europe, elected today its President, Executive Committee (ExCom) and the members of its Sectoral Social Dialogue (SSD) Committee for a mandate of two years, starting on 1st January 2021.

Tourism must be part of national recovery and resilience plans
If it is not in the plan, it is not in the budget: the European Tourism Manifesto alliance, the voice of the European travel and tourism sector, urges European Union Member States to make tourism a strategic element in their national recovery plans in order to harness the potential of the sector to generate jobs and growth, and to reap the benefits from green and digital transitions.
