About us

HOTREC is the leading European association representing Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, Cafés, and similar establishments. We advocate for the hospitality sector in Europe, driving policy change on key issues such as digitalisation, sustainability, food, social affairs and tourism. Based in Brussels, the HOTREC secretariat brings together 47 national associations across 36 countries. Our mission is to represent the hospitality sector’s interests to the EU institutions and promote knowledge sharing and best practices among our members.

The role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our team and support HOTREC’s EU advocacy efforts. This internship is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in European policy-making and hospitality sector issues.

Your responsibilities

  • Monitor EU legislative proposals impacting the hospitality sector
  • Assist in the development and implementation of advocacy strategies
  • Support internal and external meetings and events
  • Produce reports from meetings and events
  • Assist in managing EU-funded projects
  • Communications support including website updates, social media, presentations, design

What we’re looking for

  • A university degree
  • Familiarity with European politics and policies
  • Good understanding of the European Union and its institutions and processes
  • Be enthusiastic, eager to learn, with a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail
  • Good communicator, both written and oral
  • Excellent level of English, knowledge of other European languages is a plus
