/ "Restaurants Against Hunger"

Each year since 2010 Action Against Hunger with the support of the Spanish Hospitality Federation (FEHR) sponsor the initiative "Restaurants Against Hunger" that take place involving restaurateurs and customers around the country in order to raise funds to the fight against child malnutrition. Restaurants can participate by selecting in their menu at least one plate which will be the "solidarity" one. The restaurants can as well select several dishes or a menu. Whenever a client asks for the "solidarity" dish or menu, the establishment will contribute with an amount of €0.50 to €2 to Action Against Hunger. Customers have three ways to contribute to the campaign: by asking for the charity dishes or set meals identified on the menu, by leaving a donation in the collection tin located at the business or, without leaving home, by sending the word HAMBRE to the following number: 28010 (to donate €1.20 to this project). For every €40 raised, Action Against Hunger is able to provide a treatment that will save the life of a child threatened by malnutrition. More than 800 restaurants participate each year in this initiative that in addition to help to the fight against child malnutrition, increase customer traffic as well as a greater closeness with their usual clients.
