Børrea Schau Larsen honoured with the Gaspart Bonet Foundation award

During the 83rd HOTREC General Assembly in Lyon, Ms Børrea Schau Larsen received the Gaspart Bonet Foundation award for her outstanding services in the hotel industry and her longstanding research of future-oriented energy solutions.

For almost 30 years, Ms Schau Larsen has been running the unique, historic Solstrand hotel – a structure at the forefront of environmentally-friendly operations since the mid-80s, when it began using the fjord as a heating source. Today the hotel is qualified for the best energy levels: a milestone considering it is a historic 19th-century building.
Mrs Schau Larsen has won prizes for her managerial skills, for creating an excellent working environment and for promoting female leadership. The Solstrand hotel was included in the list of 500 best hotels in the world and today is a popular choice among local visitors and international tourists.

I cherish this reward as a recognition of our long term dedication to a sustainable business model focusing on prosperity, fulfilling lives and environmental health. In the end – it is all about the people. Thank you!”, stated Ms Schau Larsen.

We are delighted to present this award to Ms Børrea Schau Larsen for her outstanding contribution to the Norwegian hotel sector and for successfully promoting sustainability in her business. Her willingness to discover and concretely apply new energy-efficient solutions must be of inspiration to our sector as we work together towards greener European hospitality,” commented Mr Jens Zimmer Christensen, President of HOTREC.
