ISO Tourism Committee to go ahead with standard for online Travel Platforms

Members of the ISO TC228 Committee for tourism standaridation have voted in favour of launching a workstream entitled "Tourism and related services — Online travel agency (OTA) — Guidelines for online accommodation booking platform services".
16 Member countries have nominated experts to elaborate a First Working Draft, including Austria, Bulgaria, Germany and Ireland. The standard will be developed by a new working group under ISO TC228 and is planned to be published in May 2024. The workstream was proposed by China at the June 2021 ISO TC228 plenary meeting.
