Complete overview of all relevant VAT rates in the hospitality sector in the EU and other HOTREC member countries. In 2019, there were VAT reductions in several European countries, and no new increases:
- In Hungary, hotels benefit from a new reduced rate of 5% instead of 18%.
- In Croatia, the VAT rate of 25% was reduced to 13% on food in restaurants, bars, cafés and nightclubs – whether eat-in or take-away/delivery
- In the Czech Republic, a reduced VAT rate of 10% instead of 15% has been introduced for all restaurant, bars, cafés and nightclubs food, non-alcoholic beverages and beer
- In Greece, a reduced rate of 13% instead of 24% will now apply to food in restaurants, bars and cafés– whether eat-in or take-away/delivery
