COVID-19 related State aids supporting the tourism industry

List of schemes set up by Member States under the ‘Temporary Framework for State aid measures to support the economy in the current COVID-19 outbreak’ (19 March 2020). Based on the list of authorised State aid in the EU and requests reviewed by the Commission but not yet published. The table does not include COVID schemes that don’t require a decision of the Commission.

In total, the tourism industry is eligible for support under 250 COVID schemes + 6 under review:

• 75 of them are (almost) exclusively focusing on the travel and tourism industry
• 13 of them encompass a multisectoral measure and a tourism specific measure
• 35 of them are multisectoral schemes mentioning tourism / one segment of the tourism ecosystem
• 131 of them are multisectoral schemes open to / benefitting5 tourism but without mentioning it.
