HOTREC comments on ISO DPAS 5643 - Measures to Reduce the SPread of Covid-19 in Tourism and Related Services
Following a consultation of Members, please find below the comments HOTREC has submitted to ISO regarding the adoption of the Publicly Available Specification on Measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Tourism and Related Services (DPAS 5643). Please also find below the ISO DPAS on which our comments are based. HOTREC will attend the next ISO TC228 Committee meeting on 29-30 March, where comments from ISO Members and observers will be discussed.
Regarding the related CEN CWA initiative, we understand that the CEN mandate is:
- to adopt the ISO/PAS 5643 through an endorsement notice and make it available as CEN CWA 5643 (CWA-part 1) (hence the importance to contribute to the ISO PAS)
- to draft a CWA to complement the ISO PAS 5643 with European specificities (CWA-part 2)
The complete package should be published by mid-May at the latest. The Kick off meeting for this CEN Workshop is scheduled for next Friday 26 Feb at 10am CET. Registration details and further information is available on the HOTRCE website. As stated previously, HOTREC will not take part in this CEN kick-off meeting as participation implies tacit approval of the initiative, but HOTREC has submitted a general comment.
